MEET THE CREW

We’re a small, family-run business based in the heart of Hope Cove, where we both live and work. What began with a few friendly requests to "look after my boat" soon grew into something more. In 2017, we officially launched Hope Boats to provide reliable, local boat care services to our coastal community.

As demand grew, so did we. By 2023, we expanded our operations to include Salcombe, Kingsbridge, and the Avon Estuary. Today, we care for over 60 boats and continue to grow, constantly expanding our services to meet the needs of boat owners in the South Hams.

GEORGIE - THE BRAINS

In addition to her career as a Speech and Language Therapist, she somehow manages to keep our operations running smoothly, handling bookings, sending invoices, and keeping the team on track. Thanks to her organisation and drive, every boat is launched on time, fully prepped, and ready for action.

THE BRAUN

Since earning a First-Class Honours degree in Marine Science & Engineering in 2016, specialising in composite materials and hull design, he’s been at the helm of Hope Boats.

With decades of engineering experience, he’s known as the go-to problem solver: “If he can’t fix it, it can’t be fixed.” His sharp eye for detail and love of all things nautical ensure your boat is in expert hands.

SCUPPER - THE PAWSOME APPRENTICE

Scupper joined the Hope Boats crew as a rescued pup in 2023 and quickly found his sea paws. His daily duties include hoovering the workshop floor (especially for snacks). Scupper by name, Scupper by nature, he's especially skilled at getting wet, sandy, and shaking off... usually right next to a freshly polished boat!

Loyal, lively, and a little salty, he’s an essential (and entertaining) part of the team.

EVERYONE ELSE

Since opening our doors, we've been incredibly grateful for the support we've received. While it's mostly just the two of us keeping things running, we're lucky to have a reliable team of helpers who are never afraid to roll up their sleeves!

Our family-run tradition is set to continue with the next generation.
