THE SALCAT STORY

Over ten years ago, while studying at university and working a summer job at a boatyard on the Isles of Scilly, a passion for catamarans was born. Inspired by insights from the godfather of catamarans, the focus turned to the design of planing motor catamarans, a concept that sparked years of innovation and development. Since then, we’ve been carefully refining our design, which is now ready to make its mark on the market.

THE SALCAT DESIGN

Designed entirely in-house, the Salcat range began as a series of hand-drawn sketches before evolving into detailed CAD models. Once refined, the designs underwent rigorous testing using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to analyse and optimise performance. With the design finalised, the next major milestone was the creation of the plug and mould, a true labour of craftsmanship and precision.

SalCats redefine what’s possible on the water. Our twin-hull design delivers outstanding stability and a smooth ride, with only a 0.4m draft. Efficient hulls reduce fuel consumption while wide beams provide generous space for relaxing, entertaining, or working. With superb sea-keeping and handling, the SalCat 550 & 600 combine efficiency, stability, and comfort, without compromise.
